The name "Ronneburg" comes from the medieval fortress in Hesse, Germany (shown in the picture) bearing the same name, which sheltered the Amana ancestors during their religious persecution over 200 years ago. The building was a communal kitchen until the Ronneburg Restaurant first opened in 1950. We serve traditional German and American entrees and are known for our famous family style portions.
We have the perfect serving for every appetite! For those that are hungry we have our refillable family style sides, or we offer a smaller plated version. We also have appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, desserts, and breakfast. Click here to view our menu.
We also have a full bar with local Millstream beers on tap, bottled beer from Germany and domestics, Amana and specialty wines, and various liquors. To view our bar menu click here.
From tour buses to wedding rehearsals to birthday parties, we have room for a table of eight up to a party of over fifty! We also have a special family style menu for a party over 10 guests. To view our group menu, click here.
We also have a private room for rental and dining called the "Beer Garden" located on the second floor of the restaurant. Please give us a call if you are interested in reserving it.
Each one of our five dining room has a home-like feel, but at the same time differing from one another. We have many paintings and drawings by local artists in each room, along with photographs almost a hundred years old that show what Amana was like back then. Click here to view our restaurant.
